We’re taking it back to the days when traveling required 2 passports lots of luggage for only me, bikinis and to do lists.., and we’re revamping it to our future travel bucket list that will include family packing, educational activities and ways to love like the locals.
Traveling is always a must for us but lately we’ve enjoyed Disney and cruising. We put a hault on the fun work required; like firing the best safari in South Africa, quaint restaurants in Italy or perfect photo opps in Greece, when traveling across country.
But, in planning to start this travel adventure over again with the kiddos we’ve added the awesome country of Australia to the top of the list and here’s why!
-Australia is the world’s 6th largest country. Which includes 6 small gorgeous islands and 7,000 beaches
– The sport footy also known as Aussie Rules / Australian football league grand final is the most special sports; which a young sportsman would greatly appreciate catching a game.
– Australia has some of the most rare animals. Imagine snuggling up to this little furry baby
– The people and culture of Australia can encompasses up to 10 different racial backgrounds. These are people of all historic and entrepreneurial backgrounds. Including Andrew Charlton
– Then of course the outback! How can you plan a trip to Australia without including a stop to the hot, red, dry place in the heart of the country.
Fall is officially here, yet the crisp breeze, crunchy leaves and sweater weather hasnt kicked in yet and we are NOT complaining!
We spent the first Weekend of Fall at Luna Parks Halloween Harvest. Luna park brings back so many childhood memories for me, so to be able to share this place and their new awesome festivities has me reliving childhood with the best people on earth.
Every year a new theme sets the stage for the parks design. This year it’s Ahoy Luna – yes, tons of Pirate fun. Luna parks Halloween Harvest is opened every weekend from September 16th until October 29th for your little mates to enjoy, pumpkin painting in Blackbeard’s pumpkin patch, face painting, dancing, rides, pony rides and Halloween themed contests all in this Fall filled design amusement park.
V, K and Bash were all smiles during the monster mash sing along with Pirates John and John.
Can you guess how much the pumpkin behind V & K weighs? If your guess is correct you can become the BIG WINNER!

We have some little scientists over here in our TwinDollicious world!
You can read more about science adventures played out by Violet and Kelly in the new release of “Summer camp here we come” http://www.twindollicious.com/books
For now watch how V & K have teamed up with Makers lab and the authors awesome book of 28 cool projects to DIY for kids and adults too https://m.youtube.com/channel/UCZDqn5Mr7fEkYZfXrXkjMuQ
The girls had so much fun taking this marshmallow monster project recommended by Kim Kardashian to the next level by making smores… just to see if their little monsters were delicious and edible. The monsters passed the test!
The DIY was so easy and fun; it included 4 simple steps with minimal adult supervisikn for baking.. you need to watch, subscribe and try this for your next party or camping trip!
Slow down summer! Though it has been 3 plus weeks since school ended, just the thought of packing away our summer styles and prepping for the cold scares the hee bee gee bees out of me.
We’ve been taking it as slow as we can between summer camp and our weekend getaways we are soaking up all of the sun we can to fulfill our vitamin D needs.
With 3 kids in tow we planned to visit some historical sites within driving distance. An 8-10 hour drive may sound like much but we’ve survived 16; now that’s serious. We chose Saratoga/Lake George as our first weekend getaway. We usually visit Martha’sVineyard but decided to go with a group of our family members and learn about upstate NY. The kids couldn’t get enough of the horses at Bennington Farms, Martha’s Creme for ice cream, Congress park’s Carousel, of course the lake and did I mention the ice cream 🍦.
As if that adventure wasnt enough we were brave enough to do it again….and many more times to come of course. But, traveling down south to VA to visit family was both nostalgic and educational once again.
We stopped at chincoteague beach where the wild horses run and the famous story of misty originated. The kiddies enjoyed one beautiful horse after another with an added touch of beach of course. We enjoyed our stay at a quaint Refuge Inn…. super kid friendly; just what we like!
Summer days are meant to be spent at one of the best places on earth… the beach.
We love going to the beach to
– talk about mermaid landing rocks
– build Sand castles
– read books
We hope your Independence Day festivities include some time by the sea
What are some of the things that you like to do on the beach?
It has officially been a year since V & K asked to join gymnastics and hard work has paid off. These two dolls worked hard to learn all about what gymnastics has to offer up until the last day of meets. We are now at the point where a decision is needed to be made on whether they will join pre teams. We’d love to hear your thoughts?
They are 6 going on 7 and have been told numerous times that they have potential and the talent is clear. Though the girls do show differences in strength they truly enjoy tune with their friends and the cheering and support they receive and give to each other.
At their first meet they earned beautiful medals! They are so proud of hemselves and each other. As soon as we arrived home I thought it would be great to hang these beautiful things ; but where? We used Velcro Brand adhesives ( which we picked up at our local Michaels store).
The small sized Velcro square fit perfectly on the band of the medal. We simply found the perfect spot on the wall and hung them with pride… can’t wait for them to add more medals to their walls
Well, we survived a Presidents’ Day week with 80% staycationing (new word)! This February has flown by so fast that we couldn’t clearly plan a family vacation, so we decided to stay local to work a bit and have fun while doing so.
V & K enjoyed a movie premiere screening of Rock Dog; a must see movie about one of our favorite things MUSIC, and life of an artist. If it’s exposure to freedom of art, creation and a reason to think outside of the box we’re in!
If you haven’t been to the toy fair at NYC Javits Center yet you must check it out! There are so many ideas for learning, gifts and teaching lessons on encouraging entrepreneurship to children with one visit. It usually runs during the February season of NY Fashion. The girls enjoyed some goodies and decided to coordinate a full video on them. So much fun!
