Transitioning from Summer to Fall

Are you in the middle of transitioning from summer to fall EVERYTHING?!

We are just getting in the groove of schedules, routine and fall fashion; and Thanks to the summer sun for hanging around… it’s happening slowly.

We spent some time in Palm beach Just before hurricane Irma hit Florida and the Caribbean.  We are so happy to hear that damage was minimal to our home away from home but saddened to see the results of the natural disaster on other beautiful places that others call home.

There’s always clear skies at the end of the rainbow and road maps to bring everything back together.

As we wind down into Fall mode we’d like to wish everyone a speedy recovery with 3 practices of motivation.

1. Starting over can bring new opportunities

2. A Fresh start keeps our eyes wide open

3. A team that builds together grows together

We’re moving up to kindergarten

Happy Tuesday TwinDollicious readers! It’s been a bitter sweet week full of milestones and great loss. We’ve had to deal with the unfortunate task of saying goodbye to someone so close to us. She was a teacher, mentor, a friend and a God sent angel to have joined our family for 11 years. We say goodbye thankful yet sadly; today, but her memory will live on happily. And one day the girls will ask about her missing place and I will have to figure out the best way to explain.

I’ve come to believe that the timing of loss or sadness happens when good and new beginnings are set to occur.

  • Celebrating recitals, new beginnings and Pre K graduations mark important moments which excited the girls to spend time with friends, serve their purpose and make memories.  During this time, I’ve noticed how much V & K have grown. How their personalities continue to grow and how they still have the same sense of style!
  • Rock star style and Ruffle dresses

Our milestone moments have shown love and appreciation for teachers.  T would make for bonded relationships and teamwork if parents and teachers are able to connect and nurture the years of your child’s lives in school. We could not had been more happy with the first year of education and musicianship for the girls and are looking forward to longer lasting fruitful relationships for them.

The children are our future and there’s only one shot – as for us times 2!

Teacher appreciation:

Author Visits in school

Some of the best moments in life are created in school. We meet great friends, experience our days as individuals finding our comforts, style and handling daily situations independently. This is why in school Author visit events are the most meaningful to me. When standing in front of 84 prek and kindergarten children it clearly feels like you’re given 45 minutes of their time to make the best impression of how important they are to you // as you are to them. The main focus while sharing stories from the TwinDollicious series is on embracing individuality, confidence and the meaningful important of great relationships with friends and siblings. After every visit; my wishes are that the impact has been made, because they are the future.

Tricks, treats and Halloween

Halloween, A holiday celebrated by all! V & K enjoyed their first school Halloween celebration. All classes participated in the school’s Halloween Parade fully costumed with creativity. In costumes from 7 am – 8:30pm was a success but not so easy fitting into car seats, closing jackets with double the petti skirt tutus, but we’re believing that beauty is pain. The girls loved every minute of it and I needed a nap by 5pm.

They were Mia Fairies with zapper handmade bracelets and hair accessories. Amongst a slew of other amazing costumes. The girls admired the brother /sister Dunkin Donuts costumes which raised big ideas for next years’ costume.
Trick O’ treating and Halloween candy oh my! We joined a kiddie bunch and trooped around the neighborhood shouting trick o treat. But the most exciting part was answering the door for trick o treat-ers, handing out candy, and looking at others costumes. They even emptied their baskets into the bigger baskets for the other children. Happy Halloween Fun! 🎃🎃

Part 1 of a Child’s business plan

‘Twas the night before the first (full) day of school and mommy’s head was filled with worries while TwinDollicious sisters V & K calmly slept in their beds….. This has seriously been the most worrisome time in our little lives; at least for me it has. The girls have been prepped through play, conversation and separation with Music class for months; but when the big day comes we’re all nervous deep down inside.
Some how their morning begins a lot like I had visioned them to be…. Getting ready for school together, doing mirror checks with matching outfits and reminding each other of their teachers and new friends names (at 3 1/2).
With Their 5 day a week busy schedule and extracurricular events I’ve turned to reading a great book during my morning skypes and phone conferences. I’ll fill you all in on the great pointers as I highlight the goodies like EX: The first 4 years of a child’s life molds them to the greater years. The TwinDollicious lifestyle brand and stories would have never been a dream that I could fulfill without the birth of V & K. So as we grow, create new stories, designs, friendships priorities will always be for them to lead happy, sibling loving, successful lifestyles TOGETHER :):)
